Your COS provided email address will be used as your "username" to authenticate to the myGiant Portal. The
myGIANT Portal is where you'll find links to the apps and services you need --and that includes CANVAS! Once logged into the myGiant Portal you will see links to access many apps and services; such as Canvas, Microsoft Office 365 Office application suite, OneDrive, Banner self-service, NetTutor, LRC Reservations, etc.

COS enrollments do not instantly appear in Canvas when you've enrolled in a course. Our Banner (SIS) student information system -updates all enrollment activity -adds/drops/etc. 3x per day. Students will have to wait for one of the updates to run before their enrollment information to populate into Canvas. Students on wait-lists are not officially "enrolled" in the course yet and therefore will not have access in Canvas. When the student is officially enrolled and in the course is when the enrollment will be pushed over into Cavnas.

Due to the complexity of the Banner/Canvas integration, the update cycle is subject to change. The Canvas Administrator will update all parties in the event that there is a change to the update schedule.
