ACCJC Accreditation Site Visit – Sept 15 – 16, 2025
In fall 2025, the Peer Review Team and Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) Liaison will be on campus for a focused site visit. The Peer Review Team will validate the college’s Institutional Self Evaluation Report (ISER) and gather additional information to support its findings. The Peer Review Team’s observations and evaluations will be shared with the ACCJC, which will later determine the college’s continued accreditation status. During the visit, the Peer Review Team will tour the campus, meet with selected faculty, staff, and administrators, and invite input from students and the local community.

Background
This visit marks the final phase of the accreditation process, which began in 2023 with the development of the ISER. The report was submitted in December 2024. The Peer Review Team identified three core areas of inquiry related to the college’s regular and substantive interaction for online classes, employee evaluations process, and exemplars of planning documents and processes in action. COS responded to the core inquiries in August 2025. The Peer Review Team will use that response to help inform its report.
Open Forum
An Open Forum will be held on September 15 at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, providing students, faculty, staff, and community members an opportunity to offer feedback to the Peer Review Team. All are encouraged to attend and participate.
Exit Report
The site visit will conclude with an Exit Report on September 16 at 3:00 pm. The Peer Review Team will summarize its preliminary findings, including any commendations and recommendations. This session is open to all members of the COS community and will last approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
The COS Institutional Self Evaluation Report and response to the Peer Review Team’s inquiry are available for review:
