How to Apply

Step 1: Academy Enrollment Waiver

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​To waive the PELLETB Exam and qualify for the Academy Enrollment Waiver, you must provide proof of one or more of the following... 

  1. Earned a C grade or higher in a College English Course (must provide transcripts)​
  2. Completed an Associate's Degree or higher ​(must provide transcripts) 
  3. Received Honorable Military Discharge (copy of DD214 form ​required)
To apply, fill out our Academy Enrollment Waiver, provide the supporting documents and email them to haileyg@cos.edu

POST Entrance Exam Dates

Applicants who do not qualify for the Academy Enrollment Waiver must take and pass the POST Entrance Exam. 

College of the Sequoias Public Safety Training offers three exam dates but valid T-Score administered by an outside agency may be accepted (under one year old at the start of the academy)

POST Entrance Exams may be taken once every 30 days.

Step 2: Physical Agility Test Dates

​​Once you have completed a POST Entrance Exam or submitted an Enrollment Waiver, you will complete a physical agility test. 

College of the Sequoias Public Safety Training offers two Physical Agility test dates. Applicants must complete a Physical Agility test in order to be eligible for Academy Orientation. ​

Requirements for the physical agility test can be found here​ 

  • ​Saturday, March 20, 2021    (Practice Test)
  • Saturday, April 17, 2021 
  • Saturday, May 15, 2021
Location: 
Public Safety Building - Gym (PS10/PS12)
8:00 AM - 1:00 PM 

Step 3: Academy Orientation

​​Once the Physical Agility test has been completed, applicants must attend Academy Orientation.

Both links below must be completed prior to the first orientation date.  ​

Orientation Dates: 

  • June 5-6 from 7 AM to 6 PM 
AND
  • June 12-13 from 7 AM to 6 PM 
Ap​plic​ant​s must attend all four days of orientation (40 hours) in order to be eligible for the academy.
