 How to Apply

We will be accepting waivers for 2023 Extended & Intensive Academies until Monday, October 10​​, 2022

 Step 1: Submit an Academy Enrollment Waiver

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​To waive the PELLETB Exam and qualify for the Academy Enrollment Waiver, you must provide proof of one or more of the following... 

  1. Earned a C grade or higher in a College English Course (must provide transcripts)​
  2. Completed an Associate's Degree or higher ​(must provide transcripts) 
  3. Received Honorable Military Discharge (copy of DD214 form ​required)
To apply, fill out our Academy Enrollment Waiver, provide the supporting documents (unofficial transcripts are fine) and email them to

 Or Take a POST Entrance Exam 

If you do not qualify for the Academy Enrollment Waiver, you must take a POST Entrance Exam.

Our department offers three exam dates but valid T-Score from an outside agency may be accepted (under one year old at the start of the academy)

POST Entrance Exams may be taken once every 30 days.

 Step 2: Pass a Physical Agility Test

​​Once you have completed a POST Entrance Exam or submitted an Enrollment Waiver, you will complete a physical agility test. 

Requirements for the physical agility test can be found here​ 

Outdoor Pavilion
Registration begins at 7:30 AM and the test begins promptly at 8:00 AM. Applicants must provide a valid ID at check-in.

 Step 3: Attend Academy Orientation

After your physical agility test, you will attend orientation.

Both links below must be completed prior to the first orientation date.  ​

Orientation Dates: 

  • October 29-30 from 7 AM to 6 PM 
  • November 5-6 from 7 AM to 6 PM 
All 4 days (40 Hours) must be completed
