You Applied to the CSU/UC: Now What?

Content Editor

After students apply to a CSU or UC campus, they will need to check their email regularly. The email address you used to create your Cal State or UC account is the email to which you will receive communications and the next steps for all campuses you applied to. If you applied to private or out-of-state universities, make sure to communicate with that school directly if you have not received any communications from them about your next steps.

IMPORTANT: Only send official COS transcripts to campuses requesting them!

CSU Information

A timeline of the CSU admissions process.

Timelines for CSU:

January - if you took classes in the Fall, you must update your Cal State Apply application with the final grades. You can skip this step if you already completed your degree/transfer requirements or did not take any classes.

Complete supplemental applications for campuses requesting them. You will need to use www.assist.org

Submit your official COS transcripts via BannerWeb and other pertinent documents (College Board, other colleges/universities) to the CSU campuses requesting them. Visit the Transfer & Career Center if you need assistance.

Apply for Financial Aid for the next academic year (2024-2025) and list the campuses you applied to.

February- If you need an ADT verification per your CSU portal, meet with a counselor to complete this.

After completing all these steps, you will wait for admission decisions! While waiting, we encourage students to get to know the campus they want to commit to. Try visiting and touring all the campuses you're considering, ask questions, explore the departments, and talk to current students, faculty, and staff.

March-May - accept your admission offer and sign up for orientation with the CSU campus. Every campus has a different date for the "intent to register" and process, so check those emails for directions!

May-June - send the final official COS transcripts to the campus you accepted.
