There were 55 framers to the U.S. Constitution – 32 were lawyers. In the 116th Congress, 47 out of the 50 senators are attorneys. The field of law is where real and sustainable change occurs.

Since our country's inception, there remains a universal struggle in finding a balance between the government and its governance of the states, the federal system, and citizens' rights. Under the U.S. Constitution, individuals possess inalienable rights - rights that cannot be restrained or repealed by human laws. But who determines what those rights are? How are rights enforced? The answers lie with how the applicable laws are interpreted and argued by attorneys and, ultimately, ruled upon by judges/justices, who, by the way, are all attorneys before taking a seat on the bench.

The College of the Sequoias' Pathway to Law School assists and mentors students interested in pursuing an educational path to law schools' admission process.

If you are committed to effecting real change, become a lawyer – a law changer.

"To me, a lawyer is basically the person that knows the rules of the country. We're all throwing the dice, playing the game, moving our pieces around the board, but if there is a problem, the lawyer is the only person who has read the inside of the top of the box."
