​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The College of Sequoias Firefighter 1 Academy is a California State Fire Training accredited program which begins each year in January. Prospective cadets must complete two prerequisite courses, Fire 159, and EMT 251. It is possible to complete these prerequisites courses elsewhere, and in some cases exceptions may be granted based upon the applicant's experience. 

Students must provide their own personal protective equipment and a medical clearance prior to admission to the course. Students should be in good physical condition, as physical training is an integral part of the academy.

All incoming cadets must review the information and documents below. All forms must be completed and turned in on the first day of the academy, so schedule your physicals soon!
