 Accessible Media

Universal access to information is a part of the College of Sequoias' ongoing commitment to advancing and maintaining a barrier free learning environment.  Electronic and information technology has become a significant method by which information and education is provided. As these technologies continue to evolve their relevance to teaching and learning will increase. However, if electronic information is not created or programmed appropriately and accessibility is not addressed, the technology will not be usable and available to people with disabilities. When a universal design approach is used, access to information is possible for everyone.

In order to ensure that the College is meeting its legal obligations, Dr. Scroggins charged a small committee to develop an Accessible Media implementation action plan. The committee includes Frances Gusman; Don Mast; Kathie Lewis; David Maciel; Deborah Nolan; and Wendi McLain.

The College and committee members are committed to supporting faculty and staff. We hope these web pages will be helpful in understanding your obligations, what you can do, what your options are and who can help you.
