TULARE-KINGS COUNTIES BASIC POLICE ACADEMY

 

Welcome to the Tulare-Kings Counties Basic Police Academy. The course is certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) In order for someone to eligible to be a full time Peace Officer in California, completion of the Basic Police Academy is required.

 

The   Academy  Program is located at the new Public Safety Training Center  on 13th Ave in the City of Hanford. All public safety training including Advanced Officer Training, Police Academy and Fire Technology courses  moved to this state of the art regional facility in July,  2010.

 

The next  Police Academy Course available for enrollment is the 125th Academy which will start on February 7, 2011 and  end in July, 2011. The course will be in the Intensive format which meets on weekdays, Monday thru Friday from 6 a.m.  to 4:15 p.m. However, some evening and weekend class meeting are scheduled.

 

Applications will be accepted  beginning  August 16, 2010.  The final deadline for accepting applications will be October 15, 2010. A new application is now available on-line at this website.
