The COS Tech Prep Consortium and CTE Collaborative invite high and middles schools to apply for the CTE Collaborative Mini Grant.

Project teams will select a minimum of one Mini Grant opportunity which include: Middle School Exploration - high schools working with middle schools to enhance career exploration; Industry Sector Pathway Improvement – expand CTE coursework and academic options in identified career industries (Advanced Manufacturing, Construction Technologies, Environmental Technologies, and Health); Faculty and Counselor Industry Externships – review skill needs in pathway industries and incorporate into industry sector development; Innovative Practice Development – opportunity to pioneer and integrate an idea or interest involving career-related education.

Application Deadline is October 15, 2008.

What is Tech Prep?

Tech Prep encourages high school and ROP students to continue technical training and education at the post-secondary level, by offering college credit for high school courses.

Tech Prep...

	provides technical preparation, student competency and placement.
	leads to an associate degree.
	is a 4-year high school and community college program.
	combines vocational and academic requirements for graduation.
	provides instruction in higher order thinking skills in math, science, English, communication and critical thinking
	may fulfill lower division requirements for transfer to a university.
