Provides, local, regional and world economic data to include a table that provides quick access to a variety of up-to-date statistics of interest to teachers of economics. Students, news organizations, and specialists in other disciplines should find it of interest as well.
  • Economic Snapshots - A weekly presentation of downloadable charts and short analyses, Economic Snapshots is designed to graphically illustrate important economic issues. New every Wednesday from the Economic Policy Institute. 
  • The Economic Statistics Briefing Room - The purpose of this service is to provide easy access to current Federal economic indicators.

  • American Psychological Association - The APA is the world's largest organization of psychologist's. Learn about their student and career information, membership, and publications.
  • Dual Diagnosis Web Site - Dual Diagnosis refers to co-occurring Mental Illness, Drug Addiction and/or Alcoholism in various combinations. This site is designed to provide information and resources for service providers, consumers, and family members who are seeking assistance and/or education in this field.
  • Electronic Journals and Periodicals in Psychology and Related Fields - A comprehensive annotated list of electronic journals related to psychology of the web.
  • Encyclopedia of Psychology - From the Department of Psychology, Jacksonville (Alabama) State University. Links to psychology sites on the Web divided into various categories such as Environment Behavior Relationships, People and History, and Paradigms and Theories. There are also links to psychological organizations and publications and a section on careers in the field of psychology. 
  • Psych Central - This page serves as a Web Pointer to help you find information on mental health, psychology, and support resources. It is divided into General Resources and Professional Resources.
  • PSYC SITE: Science of Psychology Resources - is a public service launch pad to Net sites that may be of use to psychologists, and psychology students.
  • PsychWeb: Scholarly Psychology Resources on the Web - Contains links to sites which offer scholary information about a subtopic within the field of psychology, commercial psychology-related sites, psychology departments, psychology journals, and other megalists of psychology resources and self-help sites on the web.
  • Virtual Library: Psychology - This document keeps track of online psychology information as part of The World-Wide Web Virtual Library. Sites are inspected and evaluated for their adequacy as information sources before they are linked from here.

  • Sarah Zupko's Cultural Studies Center: General Links - A large collection of cultural studies and sociology resources, including online articles and book reviews, and links to theorists views.
  • The UC Atlas of Global Inequality - "This Atlas explores the interaction between global integration (globalization) and inequality, and provides maps, graphics and data." The site includes a database and "maps examining some aspects of material inequality, life and death, global connectedness ... economic globalization." and health. Users may select decades back to the 1960s and indicators. Also includes a glossary and bibliography. Searchable. World Countries and Cultures

  • A+ Country Reports - A+ Country Reports offers a wealth of information on all of the countries of the world. Like the CIA's World Factbook, A+ Country Reports presents up-to-date information on population, geography, economy, history, and politics. In addition, the site presents things such as audio clips of national anthems and links to current weather reports.
  • Cultural Profiles - Intended as a guide to aid in cultural awareness of new immigrants to Canada, the Cultural Profiles Project is an excellent source of information for learning "what life is like" in countries around the world. Each profile provides an overview of life and customs in the profiled country, with sections on work, food, holidays, family life, spirituality, communication, education, sports and recreation, landscape and climate, history, health care, and arts and literature.  Most entries include photographs.
  • Guide to Law Online:  Nations of the World -  A collection of links to legal resources for countries and territories of the world. Includes links to constitutions, general legal guides, specific country information, and executive, judicial, and legal branches. From the Law Library of Congress.
  • Librarians' Index to the Internet on Cultures of the World
  • Library of Congress - Country Studies / Area Handbook Series -" A continuing series of online books prepared by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress under the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program sponsored by the Department of the Army. Most books in the series deal with a particular foreign country, describing and analyzing its political, economic, social, and national security systems and institutions, and examining the interrelationships of those systems and the ways they are shaped by cultural factors.
  • Migration Information Source - This site offers "fresh thought, authoritative data, and global analysis of international migration and refugee trends" and chronicles global migration movements. Global Data contains charts and tables for several countries dating back to 1990 and Country Profiles contains articles on various countries' immigration and emigration policies, experience, patterns, and forecasts. There are also U.S. Historical Trends, relates links, and a glossary.
  • MSU Global Access - A briefly annotated collection of over 4000 sites "to help people learn about the world - its regions and peoples and important international issues." Searchable by country, thematic area, constituency group, resource type, language, and keyword. There are also travel precautions and September 11 and aftermath information links. From Michigan State University (MSU).
  • Portals of the World - Portals to the World contain selective links providing authoritative, in-depth information about the nations and other areas of the world. They are arranged by country or area with the links for each sorted into a wide range of broad categories. The links were selected by Area Specialists and other Library staff using Library of Congress selection criteria. When completed, the project will include all the nations of the world.
  • Social Security Programs Throughout the World - This publication highlights the principal features of social security programs in more than 170 countries: old-age, survivors, and disability; sickness and maternity; work injury; unemployment; and family allowances. A set of tables in each volume provides information for each country on the types of social security programs, types of mandatory systems for retirement income, contribution rates, and demographic and other statistics related to social security.
  • US State Department Consular Information Sheets - Consular Information Sheets are available for every country of the world. They include such information as location of the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the subject country, unusual immigration practices, health conditions, minor political disturbances, unusual currency and entry regulations, crime and security information, and drug penalties. If an unstable condition exists in a country that is not severe enough to warrant a Travel Warning, a description of the condition(s) may be included under an optional section entitled "Areas of Instability."
  • World Cultures - an Internet class. Includes learning modules, anthology of readings, a glossary of world cultures, atlases and Internet resources on world cultures.
  • World Statesmen - This "is an attempt at a comprehensive and accurate list of the heads of state and heads of government for all countries and territories, going back to about 1700 or...earlier." Most entries also include brief historical outlines, flags, and links to national anthems and constitutions. There are lists of leaders of international organizations, war and colonial indexes, information on titles of nobility (in Introduction), a bibliography, and links to related resources.
