Comparative Religion

What is a Religion?  What should one think about religions other than one's own?

The Comparative Religion class first discusses the role religion plays in people's lives and then considers the strengths and difficulties in looking at different religious viewpoints.

  • Hinduism

  • Buddhism

  • Confucianism

  • Taoism

  • Judaism

  • Christianity

  • Islam

You will explore questions for each religion.

Finally, you will have an opportunity to visit local places of worship and listen to guest speakers from each faith.  Group projects allow students to listen to music, view clothing and/or eat foods from the various cultures studied..

A great start for learning about the various religions is by visiting the COS Library Web site or other Web sites.
