Brazil Show

Music Performance |
 |
Brasil Brazil Show is an invigorating, magical experience
comprised of internationally renowned performers. Featuring
Brazilian singers, Ana Gazzola and Sonia Santos, this show
delivers the fervor, enthusiasm and excitement of popular
Brazilian music with a variety of styles, rhythms and faces
of this colorful and tropical culture. With a variety of unique,
authentic percussion instruments, the audience is both entertained
and educated about Brazil.
The band is outfitted in bright yellow and green costumes
and the production has the joyful feel of Carnaval. The music,
tinged with jazz and spiced with Latin and African drumming,
creates an uplifting experience of awesome proportions.
"Gazzola and Santos have developed a musical formula
based on a slick, well-crafted display of movement and music.
Their vocal togetherness as brightly colored as their outfits".

Backhaus
Dance Company
|
|
 |
Backhausdance celebrates modern themes through athletic yet
lyrical contemporary movement. This company is a unique mix
of physically powerful, socially diverse, beautifully trained
dancers with an aggressive approach to motion. These dancers
express their joy for their craft within an amazing ensemble
dynamic, creating riveting performances full of passion, physical
beauty, and a breathtaking execution of movement.
"[Backhausdance] demonstrates an awesome unity, even
when they differentiate in movement so that they remain
cohesive, like the parts of an atom or a planetary system.
Indeed, audience members may feel as if they have witnessed
a cosmic event, or the hidden machinations of the universe,
as the Backhaus dancers perform with authority, and without
the overt expression of human joy, sorrow and coquetry that
often dominate the modern medium. Disintegration may be something
like destiny in the respective mise en scene and in
the future success of this promising, young company."

celebration, love, patriotism or current social issues.
