The state produces more than 1,250 commodities on 76,000 farms that cover 30 million acres. The top agriculture-producing counties within the state are neighboring top-ranked Fresno County , followed closely by Tulare County and Kern County . Highest ranking commodities include milk and cream, grapes, cattle and calves, nursery products and cotton.
A wide variety of educational and career opportunities is available for all agriculture students at COS , including Associates Degree and general education classes in preparation for transfer to a four-year college or university, Vocational and Skill Certificates. The Agriculture Programs also offer evening and short-term classes designed for those who seek to upgrade existing skills.
