Document camera's are extremely versatile pieces of equipment and are rather simple to operate. They do however require a LCD projector or some other way of viewing their output.
A document camera can operate as an overhead camera, displaying books, pictures, or 3D objects such as a coffee cup.
They can also function as an overhead projector for use with transparencies.
Finally, they can be used to connect a users personal laptop to the LCD projector for displaying anything on the laptop's screen.
