Welcome to College of the Sequoias Veteran Services Office
There are several educational financial assistance programs available through Veterans Administration and the County to assist veterans and their dependents. If you are a veteran or the dependent of a veteran, please contact the COS Veterans Services Office. We will assist you with eligibility questions, applying for benefits, and inform you of our and your responsibilities in choosing to accept benefits. It is important that you contact our office as soon as you know you are interested in attending COS so that you get paid in a timely manner, this is due to the length of time it takes to process. It can take 9 to 12 weeks for claims to be processed.
Current Services :
- Assist students with applying for VA Education benefits
- Certify Enrollment for VA Education benefits
- Assist students with work-study placement
- Fee Deferments for Chapter 31 and 33 students
- Open Door Policy
- Request Military Transcripts and DD 214 for students
- Process Cal Dependent Fee Waivers for Dependents of Veterans
- Process MYCAA and TA
- Prior Credit Evaluation
- Keep students updated on Veteran related issues via email
- Veterans Resource Center
- Priority registration for students who have separated from the military within the last 2 years – Must provide DD 214 to Veterans Office
