To qualify for the TRiO/UBMS program, a student must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States, demonstrate an academic need for services as defined by the institution AND meet at least one of the following criteria:​

  • ​​​First Generation: An individual whose parents have not completed a B.A./B.S. degree
  • ​​Potential: Must have the drive and desire to succeed in high school and college
  • Grade Level: Student must be i​n the 9th or 10th grade
  • Low Income: Household taxable income meets the TRiO/UBMS federal guidelines established by the US. Department of Education
