COS Debit Card​

COS has partnered with Higher One. A COS Debit Card will be mailed to each potentially eligible student. Debit cards are mailed to the address on file with the COS Admissions Office. Always keep your current address updated with the COS Admissions Office. 

Attention: New Students - Debit cards will be mailed to new students beginning the latter part of July. If you do not receive your COS Debit Card, please contact the COS Financial Aid Office and a representative will request a new card for you.

Please Note: There is a $20 fee for lost or stolen activated cards.  Payment is due immediately upon ordering the card.  Students can pay this fee with the Higher One card or any major credit card.

Change in Higher One ATMs

Starting May 4, 2016 Higher One customers will have access to the Allpoint ATM network.  This network offers ATMs across the U.S. and around the world, surcharge free. 

With this change also comes the removal of Higher One ATMs.  Higher One ATMs located at the Visalia Campus will be removed.  ATM machines at the Tulare and Hanford Campus will remain, but may be out of service while the transition to Allpoint takes place. 


 Activate Your COS Debit Card


Choose your refund preference
 Once you receive your card, you must go online
 to to select a refund preference.  To get  started, you will need to enter your card number and select one of  the options below when prompted.

  • Same Business Day deposit serviced by Higher One, Inc. - Money deposited to the account the same business day funds are released by College of the Sequoias to Higher One.  This is the payment date listed on your award letter.
  • Deposit to another Account - Money in two to three business days after the payment date listed on your award letter.

 Allpoint ATM Machines


​To avoid ATM transaction fees, use Allpoint ATMs.  Allpoint ATMs are located at a variety of stores that includes CVS, Target, Walgreens, Kmart, 7-11, Costco, etc.  Visit to find ATMs near you.  You may also download the Higher One app to find the closest fee-free ATM near you.

COS has also two Allpoint ATMs located at our Tulare and Hanford campuses.  Locations are:

  • Hanford Hub at the Hanford Educational Center
  • Building A at the Tulare College Center

 Keep Your Higher One Account Active


​You may be required to verify your identity with Higher One.  Once your identity has been verified the process to set up your account will be complete.

Valid Forms of Identification for Higher One  
  • State Driver's License (including state-issued temporary or provisional licenses with photos)
  • State-Issued Identification Card
  • Military-Issued Identification Card
  • Coast Guard Merchant Marine Card
  • U.S. or Foreign-Issued Passport
  • Permanent Resident Card (i.e., Green Card, Resident Alien Card)
  • Student Visa
  • Certificate of Naturalization
If you do not have one of the valid identifications listed above, all the items listed below may be submitted to the Financial Aid Office to verify your identity.
  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate
  • Utility Bill with name and address
  • Signature
