Observations, computer projects, experiments, and a field trip are designed to familiarize students with techniques used in physical geography.
Essentials of Physical Geography by Gabler
Two exams will be given each worth 50 points.
Each lab will be worth 10 points. No make-ups will be given. You can miss one lab and not be penalized. If you attend all the labs, one of your labs will be counted as extra credit.
You are required to attend a one day field trip and turn in typed definitions of terms using complete sentences. If you miss the field trip or do not turn in the definitions, you may receive an incomplete grade for the course.
If you wish to withdraw from the class (I HOPE YOU WILL NOT!), the burden rests with you to take the proper steps.
Grades are determined by total points accumulated throughout the semester and will be based on the following percentage system:
90 - 100% A
80 - 89% B
66 - 79% C
55 - 65% D
0 - 54% F
I reserve the right to raise your grade a few points at the end of the semester based on factors such as attendance, participation, and effort.
Miscellaneous: Please come to class on time and do not bring children. Late work may be accepted at the instructors discretion and will include point deductions. Cell phones must be turned off before entering the classroom. Cheating and plagiarism will be dealt with according to the Student Code of Conduct which includes consequences ranging from reprimand to expulsion.
