Law & Ethics Training for Licensed Psychotherapists and Counselors
Tired of lectures or boring PC screens? Complete your six-hour BBS ethics training locally with colleagues you know. Besides updates on laws and regulations, we'll do vignettes and group exercises on difficult ethical dilemmas. Stretch your brain and have fun at the same time.
This course will examine the ethical, legal, and professional issues relevant to the professional practice of psychotherapy by MFT's and LCSW's in California. Ethical responsibilities and professional ethical codes. Ethical decision-making processes will be emphasized. [Objective] At the end of the course participants will be able to (1) explain when child abuse reporting is or is not required; (2) explain when "duty to warn" reporting is or is not required; (3) identify when a professional boundary has or has not been violated; and (4) describe and use a decision-making process that includes ethical codes and professional collaboration.
This course meets the qualifications for 6 hours of continued education credit for MFT's, LPCC's, LEP's, and/or LCSW's as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
This is a not-for-credit course.
As such, you will not earn units and the class will not be reflected on your banner schedule or on transcripts. As a not-for-credit course, Financial Aid cannot be used to pay for or offset the costs of this course.
