BSIS Requalification Course

The BSIS (Bureau of Security and Investigative Services) requalification course is a two-hour class designed for renewing your BSIS license and is open only to people employed (or own a business employing) in the following:

  • Security Guard
  • Private Investigator
  • Private Patrol Operator
  • Alarm Company Operator
  • Alarm Agent

A BSIS permit is renewable every two years, however, the Bureau requires requalification every 6 months with a minimum of 4 months between requalifications (example: if you attend a requal class on April 12, you cannot complete the next requalification requirement until at least August 13).  The State suggests you submit your renewal application at least 60 days prior to the date of your license expiration.

If your BSIS license has expired, you will be required to attend a BSIS 16-hour course (Click here for more information regarding COS’ BSIS Basic Firearms Course (16-hour)).
