Master Chorale
This class is designed to offer opportunities for adults to participate in ensemble music with the Community Chorus. Although you are not required to have had formal voice lessons, all members are expected to be able to sing on pitch, in accurate rhythm, and to have some sight-singing ability. You should have had previous choral experience in a large or small group with performances of some of the major classical choral works. Any singer is welcome to audition. The audition consists of singing Silent Night or My County 'Tis of Thee, a pitch matching exercise, a sight-singing exercise, and some vocalizing to determine your range.
If balance between sections is a major issue, the instructor has the ability to reduce the size of soprano or alto sections (i.e. students may be dropped from the class with a full refund).
Note: Outside of class performances required. See below for performance date.
This is a not-for-credit course. As such, you will not earn units and the class will not be reflected on your banner schedule or on transcripts.
