Dr. Bob Pacheco

Robert Pacheco, Ed.D. is the Dean of Planning, Research and Grants and Accreditation Liaison Officer at MiraCosta College (Oceanside, CA). Bob serves as the Assessment Chair of the Research and Planning Group of California, moderates the national Learning Assessment listserv and is contributing editor for the Assessment Corner in the monthly e-journal, Perspectives.
As a researcher, Bob has worked on a number of initiatives including the Hewlett-funded BRIC (Building Research Information and Culture) grant where he conducted statewide assessment forums; led technical assistance teams to colleges; and produced an outcomes assessment guide. He also led a research team to Leeward Community College (Hawaii) to build faculty inquiry groups as a part of the college’s decision making process.
 
Bob was also part of the task group to identify institutional effectiveness metrics as part of the CCCCO Scorecard. He has also served as a mentor at the WASC Assessment Retreats, Levels I and II and acted as a co-instructor in the WASC Assessment Essentials 101 course. He has presented with both WASC Senior and Accrediting Commissions of Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) staff at a number of assessment conferences, and was on the ACCJC SLO Task Force.
 
As a college faculty member, Bob was a member of the California Statewide Academic Senate Committee on Student Learning Outcomes and Accreditation and at his college faculty senate and curriculum committee. Bob is also an adjunct instructor in the doctoral program in educational leadership at California State University, Fullerton.
