STEM Summer Bridge

This mandatory week-long program June 10 – 16th is designed to prepare program students to work together and with REALM

staff (Academic Coaches, STEM counselor, Program Director and Activity Lead) to take on the challenges of STEM classes like higher mathematics and chemistry. Students will meet first on Saturday June 10th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to learn all about program services and to get to know each other.

 Monday,  8 a.m. – 12 p.m. - Math Jam or Chem Jam: Refresher workshops to prepare students for their summer and fall classes which feature a combination of mini-lectures, exercises and computer-aided instruction.

1:10 – 2:30 p.m. – Freshman Science Seminar – a one-unit class to make the students aware of effective study habits, resources, and time management particularly for STEM majors.

2:30 – 3:30 p.m. – Lab Activity – A chance to interact with a COS STEM instructor in a laboratory setting, this activity will allow students to become familiar with lab work and to show off the skills they have learned.

Lunch will be provided each day.​​
