Richard Peterson received his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and
his MFA Cum Laude from the Instituto Allende/Universidad De Guanajuato,
Mexico. He teaches drawing, painting, digital painting and lithography.
He has organized or co-organized 5 portfolios “Y Chromosomes”, ”Beat
for Jesus”, “Androdexterous”, “the Kansas City Experience” and “Terror
Firma”. He has been a visiting artist at University of Louisiana,
Lafayette; California State University, Humboldt; California State
University, Chico; California State University Fresno; California State
University, Long Beach; the Kansas City Art Institute and Virginia
Commonwealth University where he was a presenter at Southern Graphics
Council 2008 Conference demonstrating sharpie marker lithography. He has
received the National Drawing Association’s Award of Excellence, the
Dewar’s Young Artist recognition award for excellence in
Painting/Printmaking in the State of California. He has been exhibited
in more than 100 solo/juried exhibitions. He holds a U.S. patent for
digital lithography, patent number 5,778,790.
