Allyson Sullivan received her M.A. in
Art with an emphasis in Art History from California State University,
Fresno. Her approach to the field of Art History was shaped by the
study of Renaissance and Baroque iconography and gender studies. She
has a B.A. in French from California State University, Fresno and
studied abroad for one year through International Programs in
Aix-en-Provence, France. She participated in a foreign study Art
History tour that showcased Italian Renaissance and Baroque Art in
Milan, Florence, Siena, Lucca, Orvieto, and Rome. To further her
knowledge of French, she completed a French language immersion session
at the Centre Éducatif in Montréal, Canada.
Ms. Sullivan has
been teaching Art History and Art Appreciation for COS since 1993 and
has also taught for Reedley College, Fresno City College and California
State University, Fresno. She has completed coursework in the field of
secondary education and has worked in a team teaching environment for
LISTO at COS as well as the Honors Program at Fresno City College.
Ms. Sullivan
serves the college community of COS as the Curator/Coordinator of our
Art Gallery, Fine Arts Division Curriculum Representative, and Honors
Program Instructor. To foster connections with the curriculum, she has
also organized field trips for Art History and Exhibition, Design
Gallery students to the Getty Center in Los Angeles, Malibu Getty Villa,
California Palace of the Legion of Honor and Palace of Fine Arts in San
Francisco, Fresno Art Museum, Tulare Historical Museum, Clark Center
for Japanese Art and Culture, and Arts Visalia.
