The community college district of College of the Sequoias is located within California ’s prized agricultural region. The state produces more than 1,250 commodities on 76,000 farms that cover 30 million acres. The top agriculture-producing counties within the state are neighboring top-ranked Fresno County , followed closely by Tulare County and Kern County . Highest ranking commodities include milk and cream, grapes, cattle and calves, nursery products and cotton.

A wide variety of educational and career opportunities is available for all agriculture students at COS , including Associates Degree and general education classes in preparation for transfer to a four-year college or university, Vocational and Skill Certificates. The Agriculture Programs also offer evening and short-term classes designed for those who seek to upgrade existing skills.

    Ornamental Horticulture, golf course management, landscape maintenance services, irrigation and sales continue to be growth areas.
