Procedure for Requesting ELI Funds
Before following the procedures below, please download and consider the questions in the
Action Plan Guidelines to see how your idea fits with the ELI plan. Also, look at what proposals have been funded already on the Proposals Page to see how to prepare your rationale.
You also need to research and be able to reference the effective practices as outlined in
Basic Skills as a Foundation for Student Success. The practices have been divided into four strands, which can be accessed individually:
Organizational and Administrative Practices (Strand A),
Program Components (Strand B),
Staff Development (Strand C), and
Instructional Practices (Strand D).
1) Complete the form for ELI Proposals in consultation with the appropriate ELI coordinator (see below). There are two forms for ELI Proposals:
Proposal for ELI Conference Funds and
Proposal for ELI Funds .
2) Have the requestor, ELI Coordinator, Division Chair, and Dean sign the form.
3) Submit the request to the Budget Committee chair.
4) The ELI Budget Committee will approve or recommend changes.
5) If approved by the ELI Budget Committee, the proposal will be submitted to the Basic Skills Dean and VP of Academic Services for approval (required for the disbursal of funds).
